| CHARITY |
| The Cold Wars: Legacy Server does give a minimum of 10% of its total income (before expenses) to charity. That is not 10% of profits, but rather 10% of the total income. That means if we make $100 this month, before we pay any expenses of any form, we first give 10% of this to Charitable causes. We do NOT claim any tax breaks of any form for these donations. In other words, we do not benefit in any way from giving to charity. The Cold Wars: Legacy Server currently is giving to the Grace Children's Orphanage in India which aids both orphans and widows. The Cold Wars: Legacy Server may at its discretion include or exclude additional charities without prior notice to the players of the game and without updating this thread unless such time exists in which The Cold Wars: Legacy Server is giving less than 10% of its income to charity or does not have at least one of the charities it is giving to listed or has Charities listed which it is no longer giving to. |

| The Cold Wars: Legacy Server's (TCW:LS) Owner has a deep appreciation for life and justice. For this reason, TCW:LS may be used extensively or periodically as a means to support important Organizations that the owner feels are doing good work for the world at large. One of these organizations is The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. It is doing good work to locate missing children and rescue exploited children. For this reason, we have placed a banner for their organization on The Cold Wars: Legacy Server. We do not, however, give any of our profits to their organization or profit in any way from our affiliation with them. If you do recognize a child shown on their banner, you can call 1-800-THE-LOST. | The Cold Wars: Legacy Server is not a religiously neutral website. While we do not force religion on our members, our profits may at the discretion of the TCW:LS owner be donated to various religious organizations and causes to include the American Family Association, Bibles Unbound, and other similar organizations. TCW:LS is Christian-owned. However, not all of our staff are Christians. We have as part of our network staff Chrsitians, atheists, catholics, and non-religious individuals making our staff a religiously diverse group. | P2P TRANSFERS |
| P2P Transfers are transfers performed in which one player transfers resources directly to another player. P2P Transfers can only be performed by players who have purchased P2P Credits (10 for $2.50) or have Lifetime P2P. Lifetime P2P was only sold during beta and does have some restrictions in comparison to normal P2P Transfers. P2P Transfers are intended for the purpose of giving other players resources (for assistance, aid, etcetera) and NOT as a method of performing trades. It is NOT, however, against the rules to use the P2P Transfer system for the purpose of performing trades. Be aware, however, that doing such is at your own risk. The Game Moderators, Game Administrators, and the owner of TCW:LS will not compensate for, act as a mediator in, or in any way, shape, or form become involved in any failed trades, cheated traders, or mistakes involved in such trades. The use of the Auction Market for the purpose of fixing such trades is against the rules if the establishment of such auction is deemed to be in violation of the posted rules involving their establishment. In other words, posting auctions with extreme starting bids for the purpose of ensuring that only a specific user will have reason to bid on it is against the rules (even if it is not your intention to post it in that manner but it is established in such a manner that it is reasonably perceived as such by a Game Moderator, Game Administrator, or the TCW:LS owner). It is important to note that abuse of teh Auction Market or P2P Transfer system is subject to a loss of P2P Credits and/or Lifetime P2P. Transferring resources to other players who play from, registered from, or have ever logged in from the same PC or IP as you is a violation of the ToS and may result in a loss of P2P Credits, Lifetime P2P, and/or a temporary suspension of your account or permanent suspension of your account. Any player falling below 100K Army size as a result of sending a P2P will have committed a TOS violation. Both the sender and reciever will be subject to possible and immediate permanent suspension. |
| AUCTION MARKET |
| The Auction Market is intended for public trades and as such is regulated by ALL players of the game. Any player in the game may report an auction they feel appears to have been created in such a way that the starting bid is extreme, to exploit any aspect of the game, or to ensure that a direct transfer to a specific player takes place. Such auctions reported by any players are listed in our Game Moderator's Panel and Game Administrator's Panel for review. Any Game Moderator or Game Administrator may at their discretion review such auctions to determine the legality of the reported auctions. Any Game Administrator or Game Moderator may delete a reported auction if it is in their discretion created as a violation of the Terms of Service. Only the TCW:LS Owner may over rule such decisions. All actions taken by Game Moderators and Game Administrators are logged to ensure that no Game Moderator may eliminate the auction of a rival anonymously. This helps to ensure that no Game Moderator can abuse their powers without being caught. The Auction Market does permit players to make bids with Paypal Credits (real money), therefore ensuring that players can make money by playing the game (and you don't have to spend money to make money). While the Auction Market is game controlled, the TCW:LS staff and Owner make no garauntee that auctions will not end without a bug or some issue. In the event that the TCW:LS Owner can find evidence that the bug occurred as reported, compensation will be returned. Bugs are rare, and in most of these cases there are no logs proving whether a user actually received the resources. Sometimes, bugs result in a rewarding of the resources but continue to show a "collect button" that does not give any more resources after the first collection. Such cases may result in the appearance that the individual has not collected their resources when they have. Due to this, in cases in which no records or proof can be found by the TCW:LS Owner using the Administrative Panel that resources were not collected, no compensation will be awarded. |
| PAYPAL CREDITS |
| Paypal Credits (otherwise called PPC) are the form of real cash currency in the game. The Administration does endeavor to locate any theft of such currency, and when suspicion of PPC theft exists...the transferring of ppc into real cash will be suspended until the thieves can be identified and the resulting actions of the theft can be undone. In such cases, individuals who have earned stolen PPC from the theives will lose the stolen PPC they possess (they will not however receive disciplinary action unless evidence can be found that they were aware of the stolen nature of the PPC or aware that a theft had occurred). The thieves will lose any and all PPC they still possess (including any PPC that was not illegally acquired), the thieves will be permanently suspended, and at the discretion of the TCW:LS Owner, legal charges may be brought out against such thieves. In the event of cheating, the TCW:LS Administration reserves the right to impose and automatically collect without permission from the cheater any PPC they may possess even if the cheating offense did not involve PPC. Temporary Suspension may be applied along with such fines at the discretion of the TCW:LS Administration. In the event of a Permanent Suspension for any reason, the user(s) being permanently Suspended will lose all their PPC and the site will take full control and ownership of such PPC. Accounts which have not been logged into for 30 days or more may receive Permanent Suspension for inactivity. In such cases, all PPC owned by Permanently Suspended inactive accounts will become the ownership of TCW:LS. |
| PRIVACY POLICY |
| The administration will perform frequent investigations of registered players to locate and remove cheaters from the game. These methods include IP reporting and comparison, e-mail comparisons, registration and login action logs, investigations of action logs (attacks, trades, transfers, raids, etcetera), and investigations of both received, sent, and saved messages. Deletion of messages does not prevent the administration from locating and reading your messages. By registering with this site, you are waiving any national, local, international, or internet laws or regulations which may or may not regulate access to your account, knowledge of account password, access to your messages, or investigation of your actions while on this site. The Cold Wars will never sell any of your information to any third party nor share any information found during investigations with non-staff members or with staff members not directly and officially involved in investigations or bannings. By registering an account with The Cold Wars, you are giving The Cold Wars Adminsitrators the right to access your account directly and read your messages if deemed necessary by the Administration. At no time will any moderator, cheat mod, or other non-administrator staff be given or permitted access to your account or your messages. Contents of messages found by administrators which are being used for the purpose of evidence concerning cheating can be and will be used and shared with other administrators and Cheat mods as part of our accountability program. Every administrator and cheat moderator is accountable to each other. |
| SHARED IP/PC USE |
| If multiple users are using the same IP OR the same PC as yourself, you are REQUIRED to submit a shared PC/IP report. All accounts on that PC or IP must submit the report, not just one of the users. Even if one of the accounts submits the report, all other accounts on that PC or IP could still be banned for failing to submit a report. |

| Since The Cold Wars: Legacy Server (TCW:LS) is a Conservative-Christian owned game, behavior within the game is mandated upon Conservative-Christian morals. As such, it is important that you read and understand the Terms of Service regarding such behavior within this family-friendly website. | PROFANITY of any form small or extreme is a violation of this site's Terms of Service. This includes words such "damn" which while to many may not seem to be extreme forms of profanity are still considered offensive to many Conservative Christians. This also includes acronyms which contain letters standing for illegal words such as LMAO in which the "A" stands for "ass" which while many individuals in the UK argue it is not offensive or considered swearing there, it is considered such to many Conservative Christians in the UK, Europe, Asia, and to many non-Christians in the United States and world-wide as well. Because we do NOT investigate Private Messages, any such violations via Private Message may often go unnoticed by the Administration. If you find any form of swearing or profanity offensive or any statement offensive at all, you must report it to the TCW:LS Administration via the report option in order for it to be reported. DO NOT DELETE THE MESSAGE!!! The TCW:LS Owner will manually delete the message after the message has been investigated. Deleting the message will make it impossible for the TCW:LS Staff to investigate your report. Falsely reporting messages purposely for the simple and pure purpose of harassing or overloading any TCW:LS Staff or to harass another player in the game is against our TOS and may result in a temporary or permanent suspension at the discretion of the TCW:LS Owner. Use of profanity in any medium (including Private Messages) is subject to a possible 1-Day Temporary Suspension per offense (if you swear three times in a message, that would be a 3-day Temporary Suspension for that message) plus a 4-day Temporary Suspension per EXTREME offense (such as profanity which involving a sexual nature) OR a permanent suspension at the discretion of the TCW:LS Staff investigating the issue and the TCW:LS Owner. Finally, any content which contains anything of a sexual nature, whether meant to be offensive or not, is a violation of this site's TOS, that includes images, text, url's, etcetera. A good rule of thumb for our site is this: If you, another adult, or a Conservative-Christian wouldn't want to their 10 year old to see it or read it due to its potential offensive nature...than it shouldn't be posted. This is the best way to ensure the child-friendly nature of our site. |
| ADVERTISING of any form on this website without the expression permission of the TCW:LS Owner is a violation of the TCW:LS TOS. Cheating includes taking advantage of bugs in the game, exploiting the game, hacking the game, etcetera. If you suspect any non-TCW:LS Staff Member of cheating, you may report it via the Bug Tracker. | USERNAMES Appropriate usernames are required in our game. This does NOT mean that you must use a name which is associated with or fits the theme of the historical Cold Wars era or our game. It does, however, mean that your username must comply with ALL the TOS of TCW:LS. In other words, no profanity, sexuality, advertising, etcetera should be done via your username. |
| RESPECTING TCW:LS STAFF is mandatory. You may not flame, insult, harass, falsely accuse, publicly demean, spread lies about, post libel against, or in any way offend/attack any member of the TCW:LS Staff for any reason. All members of the TCW:LS Staff use two accounts. One which is unranked, does not play the game, and is only used for Game Moderating or Game Administrating. The other is their normal playing account. TCW:LS Staff are NOT permitted to link the identity of their playing account and Game Moderator account in anyway nor that of other TCW:LS Staff. If any player does determine the identity of a Game Moderator account, they are NOT permitted to share that identity with anyone. Violation of this rule WILL result in a Temporary or Permanent Suspension at the discretion of the TCW:LS Owner and with the inclusion of consideration from the recommendation of the offended or victimized TCW:LS Staff Member(s). This rule includes activity taking place both on and off the website. |
| REPORTING STAFF for rule violations is encouraged IF done in the CORRECT format. TCW:LS Staff members are held to a higher standard than any other player, and therefore MAY BE held to more extreme disciplinary action than normal players. When reporting a Staff Member for rule violations, there is only ONE way you can do this correctly. You must notify the TCW:LS Owner. Notifying anyone else or publicizing the knowledge through any medium (on or off our website) is a violation of this rule and may result in a Temporary or Permanent Suspension. | ALLIANCES |
| All alliances are subject to the Terms of Service. Alliances may be investigated from time to time to ensure that proper Behavior is being exhibited in the Alliance Message Boards. One of our many Game Administrators (not Game Moderators) will perform such tasks. |
| Alliance Leaders are responsible for the operation of their alliance. In the event that an Alliance is having extreme issues with rule violations and the Alliance Leader appears to be doing nothing to prevent it, the TCW:LS Game Administrators or Owners may remove that alliance leader and replace him/her. Such individuals will from then on no longer be permitted the option to become an Alliance Leader. |
| MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS/SHARED IP/PC |
| While Multiple Accounts ARE allowed in Cold Wars Legacy, we do NOT permit multiple accounts in Cold Wars Factions. If you do have a multiple account in Cold Wars Faction, all of your accounts will be permanently suspended. We are VERY STRICT with this rule. In the event that you are caught or suspected of having multiple accounts, all your PPC and all aspects of your account become the property of Cold Wars Faction and you will not be elligible for any refunds of money spent within the game whether or not the accounts suspended are actually multiple accounts. |
| MAXIMUM ATTACK TURNS |
| Every player has a maximum number of Attack Turns they can hold at any given time. Currently, that amount is set to 375 Attack Turns. Every 1 minute of game time, a tick takes place. During these ticks, resources and attack turns are provided to players. If, during a tick, your account exceeds it maximum allowed Attack Turns, you will not gain any new Attack Turns. You will not, however, lose any of the Attack Turns you have on hand. For example, if you have 374 Attack Turns on hand and a tick takes place, you will then have 375. If, however, you have 375 Attack Turns on hand and a tick takes place you will not gain any. If you had 376 Attack Turns on hand, you would gain none and lose none. AT BANKS can provide a decided advantage in these situations. AT BANKS allow you to deposit Attack Turns so that you can continue to earn more Attack Turns without spending the ones you have saved up. |
| ACCOUNT DELETION POLICY |
| We do not delete accounts in this game except under the most extreme situations a determined under the discretion of the Game Owner or an Administrator with such priviledges. Account Deletion Requests are not honored. Such requests will result in the permanent suspension of the account and most likely a renaming of the account instead. Such permanent suspensions are not punishments, but rather a means to allowing you to quit the game without an open account. It is important to let us know if this will occur since your faction will be depending on active players to survive. By quitting the game without notifying the Administration, you prevent your spot from being taken up by a potential active player and you risk permanent banning from this game. All information applied to the account such as e-mail addresses, passwords, usernames, ingame resources obtained, etcetera remain as ownership of the account and the account becomes the ownership of this game site. No personal or game related information about the account will be removed or changed except by the discretion of the Game Owner or an Administrator with such priviledges. Access to Permanently Suspended Accounts that have become so due to request of deletion/suspension or inactivity will not be honored nor will requests of password, e-mail, or username changes after the account has been permanently suspended except by the discretion of the Game Owner or Game Administrators. By having used this site, you agree that no obligation exists on the part of the site, its staff, or its owner to honor or consider such requests. |
| SCOUT FEATURE |
| The scout feature is available for your entertainment. It contains some fun random facts, some silly comments, some extremely valuable rewards, and yes...the potential to lose some stuff as well. Many players report making more than they lose, few lose more than they make. The Scout Feature is completely random and also has one IMMENSE bonus to it. Every week, 10 Uranium is hidden within the Scout Feature. Once all ten Uranium is found, there will be no more Uranium in the Scout Feature. HOWEVER, any player can pay 1000 PPC to refresh the Scout Feature with 10 more Uranium. Also, for 500 PPC, you can steal uranium from any player you choose...however, there is no gaurantee that the player you pick will actually have uranium to steal!!! In the top menu, you will see two numbers under Scout. The first number is the amount of Scout Actions you have remaining (you can buy more in the boosters page). The second number is how many uranium is left in the Scout Feature to find. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HUNTING!!! |
| TOP DONATOR STATUS |
| The Cold Wars is operated through TCGN. Our network has expenses exceeding $200.00 per month. In order to keep TCGN in operation, we count on donations from players like you. The below players have graciously donated to TCGN to keep the game alive. 10% of the donations have been donated to the Grace Children's Orphanage. You can thank those that have donated to keep the game alive for you by clicking "THANK YOU" for the Donator you want to thank. When you do this, the donator will receive 5 Attack Turns and their Thanks Count will rise by 1. You will receive 5 Attack Turns for every donator you thank. The player who has the most THANK YOU's at the end of the month will receive [ TOP DONOR ] Status. TOP DONOR Status will provide that player with 5% Defensive Boost OR 1 Gift. To receive TOP DONOR Status, the player must have at least 60 THANKS YOU's and have the most Thank You's. The base with the second most Thank You's will receive whichever reward the base in first place did not choose. To be elligible as a second place winner, you must have at least 50 Thank You's. |
| MASSING |
| Legacy and Faction operate massings differently. In Legacy, it is as easy as simply using one attack turn repeatedly. Obviously, you will have to use strategy to determine whether you should kill the enemy spies first, destroy their weapons first, or just wipe out their defense. Factions, however, is differently. In Factions, you will still need to make a determination as to whether or not you need to target weapons, spies, or just target their defense. However, targeting defense is not a straight forward as you also must determine the number of Attack Turns to use. The more Attack Turns you use, the more money you will steal, but the less enemy defense soldiers you will kill. To maximize the death toll of enemy defensive troops, you will need to use 1 Attack Turn. Of course, this means you will gain little money from your target. However, if your enemy has a strong deployment of troops from their Commander, you will need to take out the occupying units. To do this, you will want to use 15 Attack Turns as you will kill more Deployed units through the use of more Attack Turns per attack. Therefore, you will need to evaluate what to target first, and how to target it when you are performing a massing. |
| DESTROYING BASES |
| Unlike Legacy, it is possible to destroy an enemy base in Factions. To do this, you simply must destroy all of their Base Strength. The only way to lower Base Strength is through normal attacks. You can not lower Base Strength through Raids, sabbotage, or spying. What do you gain from destroying an enemy base? You will gain 10% of their Base Levels, 10% of their army size, and 10% of their Villages. Don't worry if your base is destroyed. When it is, your engineers will rebuild it for you before the next time you log on at the cost of 1 Industry Level. You will receive a private message informing you that this has occurred. The good news is that each military base has a base strength of 9,999,999,999,999 so it will take a great deal of effort and time for anyone to destroy a military base and every time your military base is destroyed...it's maximum base strength is increased by 10%. Even better news is that you can only lower the base strength of enemy military bases that have a military size more than half your own size...which also protects yourself from losing Base Strength to far more powerful opponents. If your base is destroyed, you will be given 7 days of free protection. |
| GLOBE |
| The GLOBE (AKA World System) contains a list of every nation on the planet recognized by the United Nations. Some places you may know as nations are not listed because they are not recognized by the United Nations. An important factor to be aware of when using the Globe is that while it is a risk-like system, it is not completely like Risk. There are three modes of attack and they must be performed in a certain order: ATTACK, OCCUPY, and ANNEX. |
| ATTACK: Any nation that has any army in it (not warsaw or nato units), must be attacked until it has no more military units before it can be occupied. The defensive action of the nation you are attacking is randomized like it would be in a risk game. The randomization here, however, is a minimum defensive action equal to its own army size and a maximum defensive action equal to its own army size times its own army size. In other words, a nation with an army size of 100 would have a minimum defensive action of 100 and a maximum defensive action of 10000. Every nation regenerations a portion of its army each turn up to the maximum army size allowed. |
| OCCUPY: This is the most important part of conquering a nation for your faction. Occupation is what will decide who gets the nation. Once all of the army of a nation is destroyed, an occupy option appears. For every 1 Occupation Troop you want to send in, you must have 1 Private and 1 Lieutenant. No matter who destroyed the nations army, any military base from any faction can send in occupation troops. Once the occupation timer runs out (some nations have a longer occupation timer than others), whatever faction has the most units occupying that nation will see an Annex button. If at any point a nation has an equal number of WARSAW units as NATO units, the nation will win back its freedom and will need to be attacked until its entire army is destroyed before it can be occupied again. |
| ANNEX: A nation will not be completely controlled by either faction until the ANNEX button is clicked. Only the faction with the most units occupying a nation after the Occupation Timer runs out can annex the nation. Any military base in that one winning faction will be able to click it. Whichever military base clicks it in the winning faction will receive 1 Base Level and 1000 Villages. The landsize of that nation will then be added to the faction annexing it. Remember, the winning faction at the end of the game is not the one controlling the most nations...but the one controlling the most land. |
| INACTIVITY POLICY |
| Because of the nature of minute-based Ticks of the Faction Server, any account will be considered inactive if not logged into for a period exceeding 6 days. Accounts may also be considered inactive if they are found to be simply logged into and operated for the purpose of being farmed by another specific account or for the opposing faction. Accounts may also be considered inactive if their participation in the faction is rare or non-existant (faction Leaders may request that a member be considered inactive under such circumstances, but the Administration will make the final decision on such requests). Accounts may also be considered inactive if the account does not appear to be playing in a serious manner or if its rate of growth is much lower than normal. |
